E&BC Classic Worlds Tournament 8/19/23

It was a fairly nice Phoenix day for today's event. Today we saw 20 bowlers attempt to take the first place coveted E&BC Classic Worlds Title. They bowled on the E&BC modified recreation Madison oil pattern, a somewhat challenging pattern at 42 feet with 24.55 units of oil. The fresh was playable up the track 8-10 for a few games, but did cause bowlers to need to make a move left for the righties as the breakdown opened up lane-play. Our finalists with their qualifying scores plus handicap include: Christopher Gray (1076 w/HDCP) in his first E&BC Tournament appearance; Josh Chandler (999 w/HDCP); Edward Polansky (997 w/HCDP) who has now made the cashers round in three straight events; and Jordan Parker (982 w/HDCP) who was visiting us from Chicago, IL (safe trip home Jordan). Mechanical conditions of the lanes were very good today with only needing to re-spot pins a couple times, thanks to the mechanical staff at AMF Union Hills (you guys did great today just like last month). We had the finalists bowl their final three games, first game on 7 and 8, second game on lanes 5 and 6, and final game on 3 and 4. With pins carrying over from their qualifying rounds, Christopher Gray continued to simply pond out some really good games taking the Title with 1825 pins w/HDCP. Jordan Parker bowled some very good games to leap over Edward and Josh to take 2nd place, just not quite enough to take the title, with having 1799 pins w/HDCP. Edward Polansky took 3rd with 1744 pins w/HDCP. And, Josh, having a not so good 2nd game in the finals managed to take 4th place overall with 1721 pins w/HDCP. Today's event saw a number of new bowlers to E&BC Tournaments (Christopher Gray, Jordan Parker, Caleb Gray, William Roberts, Caitlin Johnson, Rick Watters, Robert Brandon, Roy Gross, Rick Darnell, and Zelma Strandell).Thank you to all who came out in support of these events.
