E&BC Classic Worlds Tournament 5/17/2025

Saturday May 17th we saw 17 bowlers for this event. The bowlers bowled on
the E&BC Tournaments Emerald oil pattern. This pattern in the past has been
a medium to higher scoring pattern, which saw the bowlers needing to bowl
about 10 pins above their average in order to qualify. The bowlers qualified
in a 3-game squad with a cut to the top 12. 2 games later we had out top 4
bowlers for the stepladder finals. The final two games showed big move by
Jim Alme, but ended up missing the top 4 by only 8 pins after qualifying in
the number 12 spot tied with Tony Schroeder. Our final four bowlers came
down to William Butler in the 4th seed spot, Chris Naude in the 3rd seed
spot, George Lima in the 2nd spot, and Edward Polansky the 1st seed spot.
William Butler and Chris Naude faced off against each other in a tight race
with Chris coming out the victor of that match by a narrow margin of only 9
pins, rolling 223 against 212. Chris Naude then had a match against George
Lima in another very tight match that came down to the 9th and 10th frames
with George taking the victory 285 to 273 in order to face our number one
seed, Edward Polansky. It was a close match until about the 8th frame where
George had an open and Edward was able to continue marking. Our today's
victor and two-time Titleist was Edward Polansky defeating George Lima 283
to 253. The condition of the pinsetters was very good today, where we only
had to take care of a few dead woods. So, again, we would like to thank the
crew at Bowlero Union Hills who work as hard as they do to make sure these
events run without a hitch. We would also like to thank you to all who came
out in support of this event. To be eligible to bowl the year-end event you
will need to bowl at least 2 events prior. Our next event will be June 21st,
2025. You can contact us at ebc_tournaments@yahoo.com for any additional
information. We currently have holding $262 added prize money for the
year-end event with more being added each tournament. Each event we
anticipate these tournaments to grow throughout the year.
